Musician and songwriter Luke Davison is probably best known as the drummer in Australian indie rock band The Preatures, formed with fellow alum of The McDonald College – Isabella “Izzi” Manfredi.
In 2013, the Preatures released “Is This How You Feel?” which won the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition, received a nomination for an ARIA Award and was voted ninth in Triple J’s Hottest 100. The band’s debut album, Blue Planet Eyes peaked at No. 4 on the ARIA charts. At the 2015 ARIA Awards, the group were nominated in three categories. Their second and final album, Girlhood, was released in 2017 and was nominated for the ARIA Award for Best Rock Album. The group disbanded in 2021, following the launch of Manfredi’s solo career.
My time at The McDonald College was such an integral and important part of my life in development as a musician and a person to be able to participate professionally in the music industry.
Luke has toured globally working and recording with prominent Australian musicians including Delta Goodrem, Thelma Plum, Dappled Cities, Missy Higgins, and Jack River.
While continuing to work in the Australian music scene, Davison is currently a drum teacher based in Sydney.
