Year 12 Legal Studies Students Visit the Downing Centre
Our Year 12 Legal Studies students recently had an enriching experience visiting the Downing Centre. They had the unique opportunity to hear from a judicial officer who generously volunteered their time to share insights about their career and experiences within the justice system. The students observed various hearings at different stages, including pleas, committal proceedings, bail applications, and sentencing. Sitting respectfully in the public gallery, they witnessed the criminal trial process firsthand, allowing them to connect real-life proceedings with the theory learned in class. This trip provided invaluable practical knowledge and a deeper understanding of the legal system.
