Crushing it on the courts

Nine of our Elite Tennis players have earned spots in the upcoming 12&U and 14&U Clay Court Australian Championships, one of the most prestigious competitions in Australia for young players.

The 12&U Boy’s qualifier spot goes to Tylor Sudriku Jayawickrama, while Sebastian Lavorato has earned a wild card entry. Ethan Domingo, meanwhile, has received a direct acceptance into the 12&U Boy’s draw.

In the Girl’s 12&U draw, Ami Dalla Pozza and Suri Suchovsky earned direct acceptances.

In the 14&U Boy’s draw, Jason Chu and Shannon Anek have received direct acceptances, while Tristan McIntosh and Ashton Chan have also earned spots.

All nine players have worked hard to earn their place in this prestigious competition. They will proudly represent the Voyager Tennis Academy and The McDonald College as they compete against some of the best young tennis players in the country. We wish them all the best of luck in the tournament.

And if that wasn’t enough, on Monday and Tuesday 27 and 28 March, Ashton Chan in Year 9, Daniel Jankoski in Year 12 and Kiran Krish also in Year 12, travelled to Bathurst to represent the CIS at the NSW All Schools Boys Tennis Championships. 

These championships are split into pool matches and trials for the prestigious Pizzey Cup. On the first day of competition, competitors play pool matches in teams and earn points. The team with the most points at the end are proclaimed winners of the championships. This year the CIS topped the table. What an achievement! On the second day of competition, the Pizzey Cup trials begin for the top teams from each pool. Competitors play 3 matches and the NSW team is picked. 

Congratulations to Daniel Jankoski who has been pre-selected to represent NSW at the Pizzey Cup. We wish Daniel all the best in this tournament.
